What is the Angelus prayer?

The Angelus is a traditional Catholic devotional prayer commemorating the Incarnation of Christ. Prayed three times daily at morning, noon, and evening, it consists of three versicles, three Hail Marys, and a concluding prayer, recited in response to the ringing of church bells.

Structure and Practice

During Eastertide, the Angelus is replaced by the Regina Caeli, a joyful antiphon addressed to Mary as Queen of Heaven, celebrating the Resurrection of Christ.
