Do Catholics believe in the rapture?
Catholics do not believe in the rapture as taught in Protestant dispensationalism — a secret pre-tribulation removal of believers before Christ's return. Catholic teaching holds that Christ will return once, visibly and gloriously, at the end of time, gathering the living and the dead together for the Last Judgment.
Tribulation, Antichrist, and the End Times
Catholics are called to watchfulness and hope, living in readiness for Christ's return, not to decode prophetic timelines. As Christ himself taught, no one knows the day or the hour (Matt. 24:36).
