What is the Anointing of the Sick?

The Anointing of the Sick is a sacrament of healing in which a priest anoints a gravely ill or elderly person with blessed oil and prays over them, conferring grace for spiritual strengthening, forgiveness of sins, and sometimes physical healing, in union with Christ's own redemptive suffering.
