Prayer for Christlike Love in a Tense Conversation

Lord Jesus, when I walk into the hard conversation I have been replaying in my mind—at the kitchen table, over a text thread, or in a strained meeting at work—keep my tongue from wounding and my heart from hardening. Let Your love, shown at the cross, rule my response so that I speak truth without cruelty, listen without defensiveness, and reflect the grace You have poured into me.
