Good morning. Today we step into the prison where Joseph noticed two anxious men and chose to serve them with careful faithfulness.
Today's Verse
"And they said to him: We have dreamed dreams, and there is nobody to interpret them to us. And Joseph said to them: Doth not interpretation belong to God? Tell me what you have dreamed: The chief butler first told his dream: I saw before me a vine, On which were three branches, which by little and little sent out buds, and after the blossoms brought forth ripe grapes: And Pharao's cup was in my hand: and I took the grapes and pressed them into the cup which I held, and I gave the cup to Pharao. Joseph answered: This is the interpretation of the dream: The three branches are yet three days: After which Pharao will remember thy service, and restore thee to thy former place: and thou shalt present him the cup according to thy office, as before thou wast wont to do."— Genesis 40:8-13
Reflection
Joseph was not in a palace when he spoke these words, but in a prison. He saw the butler and baker were troubled, listened to their dreams, and gave God the credit for the interpretation. He did not let confinement make him careless. Faithfulness often looks like this now: answering the hard email honestly, keeping your word on an ordinary shift, or helping a worried coworker even when your own future feels delayed.
Faithfulness keeps serving clearly and truthfully, even when the room feels small and the reward is not yet visible.
1-Minute Study: Understanding faithfulness
Faithfulness is steady obedience in the place where God has put you today. Joseph had been sold, falsely accused, and imprisoned, yet he still paid attention to the people near him. In Genesis 40, faithfulness is not dramatic; it is Joseph noticing troubled faces, inviting the men to speak, and refusing to pretend the wisdom came from himself: "Doth not interpretation belong to God?" He tells the butler the truth carefully and specifically. That same virtue appears elsewhere in Joseph's life: he served well in Potiphar's house, and later he would govern Egypt with the same reliability. Faithfulness is also seen in small duties. A parent keeps a promise after a long workday. A nurse documents accurately at the end of a tiring shift. A student finishes the assignment without cutting corners. Faithfulness does not wait for a better season. Like autumn, it accepts change and keeps bearing good fruit while the leaves are turning.

Prayer of the Day
Lord God, Joseph served faithfully inside a prison, not only in times of success. Teach me to notice the troubled person in front of me, to speak truth without pride, and to do today's duty with care. When my plans are delayed, keep me steady and honest. Make my work faithful in this changing season.
Today's Challenge
Choose one delayed or unnoticed responsibility today—reply, repair, record, or follow through on it before noon, and do it with the same care you would give a public success.
