Dear friend, today we explore the story of Zacchaeus, who went to great lengths to seek Jesus.
Today's Verse
"And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich. And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature. And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way. And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for today I must abide at thy house. And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully."— Luke 19:2-6
Reflection
Zacchaeus, a wealthy man, climbed a sycamore tree to catch a glimpse of Jesus. Despite his stature and social standing, he sought Jesus earnestly. In our busy lives, we often need to climb metaphorical trees, seeking moments of clarity and connection with God. Whether it’s setting aside time for reflection or stepping outside our comfort zones, seeking Jesus requires intentional effort.
Seeking Jesus often involves stepping beyond comfort zones.

Zacchaeus' story is a powerful example of seeking. Despite being a man of wealth and status, he didn’t let obstacles deter him from seeing Jesus. This earnestness is echoed in other biblical figures, such as the woman who touched Jesus’ cloak or the blind man who called out to Him. Seeking involves humility, courage, and a willingness to act. Today, seeking might mean prioritizing quiet moments with God or reaching out for guidance. It’s about taking tangible steps toward spiritual growth, despite life's distractions.

Prayer of the Day
Lord Jesus, like Zacchaeus, may we seek You with earnest hearts. Help us to overcome the obstacles that stand in our way. Guide us to find You in our daily lives and receive You joyfully. Amen.
