Dear Friend, today we explore Bezalel's divinely inspired craftsmanship.

Today's Verse

"And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah: And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, To devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, And in cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship."
— Exodus 31:1-5

Reflection

God chose Bezalel, filling him with His Spirit to craft the Tabernacle's intricate details. This divine empowerment shows that God values skill and creativity. In our lives, whether we are designing a project or fixing a leaky pipe, we can see our work as an extension of God's creative spirit in us, seeking excellence and beauty in all we do.

Craftsmanship is using our skills to glorify God in every task.

1-Minute Study: Understanding craftsmanship

Craftsmanship is not just about physical creation but also about the pursuit of excellence in our work. Like Bezalel, whose skills were divinely inspired to build the Tabernacle, each of us has unique talents. Proverbs 22:29 reminds us, 'Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings.' Our dedication in honing our craft can serve others and honor God. Nehemiah 2:18 also illustrates this as the people unite to rebuild Jerusalem's walls, showing how craftsmanship can foster community and purpose.
