Tuesday, April 07, 2026

Dear Reader, today's story of Jeremiah reminds us of God's power to instill confidence, no matter our age or experience.

Today's Verse

"Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. Then said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child. But the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak. Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord."
— Jeremiah 1:4-8

Reflection

In this passage, God assures Jeremiah that his youth is no barrier to His plans. Jeremiah hesitates, fearing he lacks the words and experience, but God promises His presence and guidance. Today, we face similar doubts, feeling inadequate for tasks before us. Yet, like Jeremiah, we can find confidence in knowing God is with us, empowering our words and actions.

Confidence grows when we trust God's presence over our insecurities.

1-Minute Study: Understanding Confidence

Confidence is rooted in knowing who we are in God's eyes. Jeremiah, despite his youth, was chosen and equipped by God, revealing that divine purpose transcends age or ability. Similarly, David faced Goliath with confidence not in his strength, but in God's power. In the New Testament, Paul reminds Timothy to not let others look down on him because of his youth. True confidence emerges when we shift our focus from limitations to divine potential and purpose.
